About the top video:
I think this is alarmist, exaggerated, close to hysterical on Beck’s part. If our extremely wealthy overlords wreck the economy, they wreck themselves.

About the lower video:
Beck is right.

I would think so, too, but I’ve heard economists explain that the inflation caused by all this printing of money by the FED actually benefits the elites (at least short term) while harming the middle class.
I think the benefit would collapse even for the elites, eventually, but maybe they don’t care…

I’m glad there’s at least one honest man to come out of Blackrock. It’s fraud at the very least.
Obviously they’re all making money off of it, and there is already proof of fraud in the “testing” of the vaccines. With all this evidence piling up of 300 - 1000 % increases in deaths from it, it’s adding up to the worst crime of the century.

Our overlords have been wrecking the economy with the lockdowns, with the mandates, and they want to wreck it further with “green” policies. They don’t wreck themselves with these measures they gain more power over us. I don’t know exactly what’s coming, I dont know if Beck’s predictions are alarmist or not, but I’m pretty sure the powers that be have more “wrecking” in store for us.

Exactly. That would be a very sure bet.

Currently, there are at least 20 states that are pushing back on ESG. Five states have bills that would ban ESG in their financial markets.

Good news there. But…alarmist, hysterical? Remember Beck has been studying this for 20 years. Studying financial trends, political trends and singularity trends from history and current events. Regular people feel this “alarming” trend and sense that there is a need to “prepare for impact.” That feeling is growing.

When it was revealed the true amount of money printed for TARP just this year, it made the 800 billion dollars or so that we found disturbing seem like the money from the tooth fairy. The Fed can by law keep secret their actions for 2 years. After TARP, they decided that they would keep that action secret for 10 years. They told us that yes, it was more than the billions of dollars and was really 1.2 trillion. FOIA this year revealed that it was 90 trillion and went to 20 (?) different countries to bail out their banks as well. We are screwed. That is enough to keep our great-great grands paying.

But…Modern Monetary Theory, which drives the Left and is in use now at full throttle, claims that nations can print as much money as they need and debt is irrelevant. Taxes are used to keep bad actors from pushing inflation via punishing, not to fund the government projects. That is an article in the NY Post, I think, explaining why The Great Reset is good, not to worry…just print more money.

And, remember that war is The Great Resetter. Does it seem to anybody else that the Biden administration is pushing us toward war?

It is not alarmist to give people the tools they need to get their financial house in order or to prepare for severe economic times. Remember when Zimbabwe’s president wrote to Obama and begged him not to devalue the dollar further by printing money and do to the US what he had done to Zimbabwe. QE infinity, I think they finally called it at the Fed. Quantitative Easing by printing money and circulating it.

A former secretary to somebody, economist Steve Meadows (?) no not that name. Anyway he spoke with a Senator that was asking about inflation and how bad it might get. He said soon to go to 10% and stay there for years. Of course that is inflation under the new figuring, which leaves out fuel and food. We would now be at around 15% under the old figuring. Sorry I can’t remember names of these people.

I have written a wandering post yet again. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, inflation is a serious threat. Yes, it is caused by the government printing money. All true.

Try to obtain assets that endure, sure, good idea in normal times. But if total collapse of the economy comes they will have to sleep a long time before they can be turned into bread and shelter. And why would a confiscation-minded government not confiscate land and buildings as well as bank savings? The value of works of art depend on general prosperity and fashion. Jewels are never worth what you pay for them. And art and diamonds can also be confiscated.

If Beck is right, there is no hope. We are all doomed.

Yes, I agree. I think he was thinking out loud about assets. I am not much on gold and silver either, but having some silver is worthwhile. Having ammo, much better. Getting out of debt…better. Having long term storage food…better. Having a redoubt with all of the above…the best!

We are preppers, but not Rawlsian. Of course, we have always been concerned about current events that may make normal living difficult, but really kicked into gear when Obama got elected. The children of those who lived through the depression often tend to realize the wisdom of their elders, who lived frugally and prepared for bad times.

Beck is a historian, so his warnings come from his understanding of economic and political history and an ability to apply that knowledge to his questions about current events, as well as, his gut.

Conditions in which stores are empty can last for years. Who can hoard enough canned food to last for even one year?

Your idea, Jeanne, to buy bullets is better.

Both to fight the enemy in a civil war, and to hunt with. If we lose the civil war, or if we avoid fighting it, we’ll have to become hunter-gatherers.

Gold and silver can’t buy food that is not there to buy.

Yes, we have insane idiots in charge now, who think they can pull money out of a magic hat and solve everything. I’ve heard from others, too, that they are putting us in a dangerous decline, probably ending in a huge crash and collapse.

LOL.

Home canned, store bought, freeze dried, supplemented with flocks, hunting and community trade. Home canned last much longer than store canned, but ignore the sell-by dates, yet check the canned fruits often. Silver will be trade worthy. Gold not so much, but worth holding onto for future trade.

Ammo for trade, especially .22 rimfire. Ammo hard to start gathering now. Food storage can begin anytime, but get on it. Manual labor devices. Candles, oil lamps, replacement parts, oil for lamps, matches and other fire starters. Shoes and socks and clothes for growing kids. Shoes and socks for adult feet. Extra, plus more sturdy clothing. Sewing supplies, treadle sewing machine. Wood cook stove, propane cook stove and appropriate propane tanks. Renewable heat sources. Extra, plus more medical supplies and drugs. Books on self sufficiency, old time living, off the grid living. Supplies, supplies, supplies…and not toilet paper, paper plates or paper towels. Salt, sugar, syrup, honey, molasses. Flour, flour, flour. I worry about flour. Seeds in abundance, including wheat, dent corn. Easier meat and meat animals than cattle, such as, pygmy goats, rabbits.

The rule of three; three is two, two is one, one is none. Have extra of what you use now, such as, mixing bowls, measuring devices, slow cookers, canners, microwaves. A generator for emergencies. Freezers as long as the electricity stays on, but don’t count on it for long. Canning jars and lids, lids, lids.

Lotions, creams, razors, scissors, soaps, shampoos and conditioners, tooth brushes, tooth pastes, combs, barrettes…whatever you need and use now buy more of. Dish washing liquid and other detergents, bleach. Towels, blankets, cloths for cleaning. Water and lots of it, if you aren’t on a well. Manual water pump if you are. Tang. Supplements and vitamins. Many physicians will write a script for out of pocket medicines, but some we have been ekking out a pill or two a week over the years to build a stash.

And don’t forget your pets.

You might be surprised at what you can gather to prepare and how you can store it around your home, if you just get started. We can maintain ourselves and our two kids’ families for maybe a year or more if the hunting is good. And we have a home brewery and two brewers to boot. A home shop, an auto mechanic down the road, an RN and a plumber on the farm and all the men are Jacks of all trades. Get to know your neighbors.

Getting my facts straight here:

It was Larry Summers commenting on Stephanie Kelton’s NYTimes piece slobbering over MMT. It was he that believes the US is rapidly heading to 10% inflation that will last for years.

And, reassessed our “hoard” and the two of us can go for quite some time on what is in store, but our farm family of six adults and 3 children might make 8 months. If the electricity stays on and the freezer contents remain and/or hunting remains a viable option, we can go longer. But that is just what we have in store, not considering replacement from garden and trade and hunting.

Many people don’t have enough to last a week, so anything added to that will only make them more secure. If you are concerned or just interested or curious, check out:

You are actively preparing for the worst? Expecting hunger, a struggle to stay alive?

So you believe that America is inevitably about to be utterly wrecked?

I trust you, Jeanne, to speak for real America. If that’s what you believe now, I’ll also believe it.

Since we both were young (long before we ever met), my husband and I have tended to want to be prepared (Boy Scout motto, but neither of us were in the Boy Scouts). We are children of parents who lived the Depression and one of us living without inside plumbing or electricity until middle school age. He was the child of parents that were raised in that same manner and lived much of their lives in that manner…old school farmers, who worked with a mule team, raised and butchered their own meats, and canned their own food.

Is it paranoid to be prepared and to avoid being a victim or a burden to others? Well, then, we are paranoid. Better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it. Don’t waste anything, because you might need it later for some use. Strive for self sufficiency. Stay out of debt. Well, we failed there, but are working towards that goal, which we had gained and lost recently.

When you are prepared, you can live without fear of the what-ifs. Blizzard? We are good. Hurricane and electricity loss? We are good. Worse disaster, such as an EMP? We will be struggling, if not okay. But a good struggle and not a hysterical loss of all reason. And we will take care of our family that survives, as the loss of drugs and medical technologies gradually take a toll on us all. We can defend our home and feed our family and help our neighbors, as they can help us.

Utter wreckage is always just around the corner. The question is how far do we travel before it is upon us. We would rather not be caught in an “Oh Shit!” situation, because the day has arrived and we don’t have any food or supplies to outlast the week.

I only speak for my paranoid self in this situation. I think America is in for hard times, even when we retake Congress for conservatives, hopefully, and the WH is in competent hands. Hard times if we lose and the global elites get their way. Harder times if one of our enemies sets off an EMP. Either way, we would rather be prepared to handle the hard times, than not be prepared.

Don’t you think that America…and the world…are in for hard times to come? Too much damage has been done, too much confidence has been lost, too much control is in effect for “normal” to come back quickly. I believe it will come back to America, and we are going to try to be here to help.
