Prepare Your Finances Now

Yes, I am very pessimistic about what’s to come. We are being oppressed by an evil authoritarian government. Every day in every way it’s getting worse and worse. I fear for my descendants, not so much for myself as I am very old.

I am not at all sure that this coming November will bring in a Republican Congress, that 2024 will happily restore Trump or at least empower a Trumpian. The Dems have learned how to win elections by cheating and they’ll hone their skills at it.

But a civilizational collapse such as you (and Beck) are preparing for? As total as all that? So the struggle will be on just to stay alive?

Will you be satisfied with mere survival?

What do think will happen if we spiral into a Depression? How do you think those that live in the cities will react? The fact that our power grid is not as hardened as it should be and is vulnerable to attack or hack should worry everybody. North Korea is rattling missiles again. Russia and China and Iran, OH MY!

Civil war on the horizon? I don’t think so, but who knows? Actually, there is an inability to accurately predict what state America (or the West) will be in 2 years, or 5 years, or even next year.

Is there something that will make America immune to a “failure of civilization” leading to collapse? Well…yes, there is something a bit different about Americans. They tend to be hard to eliminate. Staying alive is the only way to try to regain a semblance of the Republic. The more of us that are prepared to struggle, the more of us there will be to stay alive as Americans, even if we are in hard times.

I don’t know what is going to happen, but I plan to be prepared as best I can be for the worst, and if it all goes to hell…well, guess I will go there with it.

Please, Jeanne, don’t expect the worst! If you do, that means to me that tens of millions of other good Americans do too. And a belief that prevalent can turn expectation into reality.

Don’t believe Beck. Don’t hoard food. A store of canned food in case of temporary shortages is sensible, but to try to stock up for years of deprivation is surely an activity of despair so extreme as to endanger your sanity!

Now, wait just a minute, Jillian Becker. Who has it been that has been talking doom and gloom about America, the Democrats, the Left, the snatch of power and control from Covid and Climate Change, the shift to Communism/Socialism that would take all private property and monies from the people and work to reduce The West and America to fiefdoms with elite overlords? A while back TAC, not the forum, became so depressingly gloom and doom that I despaired for those who seemingly had given up and saw no hope for America and Americans.

What do you think would happen then, that we would all just lie down and take it? That will not be the way America goes. There are too many who will not lie and down and take it. There are others and “they also serve that only stand and wait.” In the words of an old song:

“Swear allegiance to the flag
Whatever flag they offer
Never hint at what you really feel
Teach the children quietly
For some day sons and daughters
Will rise up and fight while we stood still”

That is perhaps when I was moved to be really prepared; an old song that spoke to me, “Silent Running” by Mike and the Mechanics, which came out in 1985, but I probably missed it then, as I had three babies in six years and missed the 80s music entirely, discovering it only in the 90s.

And who was the one that always had Hope that whatever may come, America and Americans will remain and seek to regain the Republic? That’s me, despite the despair of TAC. Maybe you didn’t realize how TAC projected despair and doom and gloom in recent years.

What has happened before in human history? The people that hold individual freedom as the most important condition, will continue and try to return freedom to themselves and to their progeny. That cannot be done if we aren’t prepared to weather the worst of times.

Jillian, many good Americans already believe that hard times are coming, because they are aware of current shortages, current inflation, current foreign affairs and current domestic events…plus we have two more years of the Biden Administration and can expect more disasters for America because of it.

I don’t need Beck to persuade me, but he confirms through his research teams and his own self-education what we have been expecting; that eventually the Left will control the country and align itself with the “Fabians,” “New World Order,” “Global Oligarchy,” “The Great Reset.” “Build Back Better” and that the Communist that Joe McCarthy said were infiltrating our government have taken hold, and are nearing completion of their rather more fascist goals.

Barring that, if you and I both acknowledge that a civil war is possible, that a world war is possible, that an EMP strike or solar flare of EMP strength is possible or that a break-down of civilization is possible due to plague or economic disaster …then why wouldn’t you, Jillian, prepare for severely hard times, wherein the US might not recover significantly as a government that is a Republic under our Constitution and Bill of Rights?

I understand your age, but you could encourage your children and grands, or you could stock up for them if they don’t take such possibilities seriously. There are many people, who exhibit a normalcy bias. It is almost a natural condition to expect things to remain the same, to minimize the threat of a disaster or how that disaster could affect them.

As I said in an earlier post, I have from an early age felt that I should be prepared. I was behaving as a person that wanted to provide for her family during hard times and I was always a person, who was determined not to be a victim, but to help others in trouble.

Stocking up for a time when civilization breaks down is more serious than preparing for an electrical outage during hurricanes or blizzards. An EMP from attack or from the Sun are real possibilities, and would wreck havoc with life as we know it. Why wouldn’t an intelligent person want to be prepared to struggle through it? That isn’t despair. That is hopeful determination. That is a desire to continue. My sanity is not endangered. It is the sane position to take.

Yes, The Atheist Conservative did deplore the descending darkness.

You gave us - me in particular - hope that Americans would not let it overwhelm the nation.

Now you expect that it will. Sure, you again hold out hope that if we prepare for it survival is possible. Bare survival!

Well, you and Beck may be right!

I have to admit to being a pessimist most of the time, but in this I can agree with you.
We agree that the worst is likely to come, in one way or another, but that if we are well prepared, we at least have a chance for survival through hard times.

Yes, “Joe Bidens policies have ruined the economy”.
There couldn’t be a more stark contrast than that between the prosperity that surged under Trump’s policies and the disaster that has hit us like a freight train after only a year under Biden’s.
How could anyone possibly miss the obvious lesson there? From the way Bidens poll numbers have dropped, I guess alot of people do see it.
But his partners in crime - the media - are clueless.

I understand what you are meaning, Jillian. Obviously, the best outcome for the country would be to retake Congress and the WH, with a dedication to adhere to the Constitution and Bill of Rights and to withdraw from any BBB, Great Reset globalist plans. That is to take back many policies of Trump and drive the Left into the garbage bin.

Whether it overwhelms the nation and results in war of some sort or economic collapse has little to do with preparedness, per se. I do have confidence in the 2022 election, but that may be a date too late the way things are moving so quickly, especially the more we discover that much of that doom to our future is more set than we thought, or could believe.

What cost hope? It is the anodyne to despair. I do offer hope, as I value the soul of America to “Never give in, never, never, never.” In times of war, it hasn’t been our warriors or those that support them that gave in. It has been our government leaders that ruined the cause for which our warriors fought. What would we have been if early settlers had given in, or those settling our West, or our revolutionary warriors and leaders? We would not have become the United States. There is simply something different about people, who call themselves Americans.

That is the best hope I can offer. The will to make it through and make our world better for our grandchildren, that is hopeful determination. We know what works to lift populations out of poverty and to provide natural rights. That is worth staying alive to bring back again sometime in the future, should it be lost in this time. That “standard to which we can repair” is worth it. What is the alternative?

And just keep in mind that several decades ago that number would have been figured differently, at around 14% inflation.

But, you already knew that inflation was not transitory, but it was going to steadily climb, because what else could it do. Everybody with have a mind aware knew it was going to get bad and then worse. Beck didn’t need to enlighten anybody. It isn’t as if he is a deity, who knows all and sees all. He is just a man with ADHD and a serious neuropathy illness and an eating disorder, who is a recovering alcoholic, but is a voracious consumer of information and a talented historian, who seeks to learn from human history and helps clue us in…those that are listening.

I am not a member of a cult, Jillian. Please do not worry, my friend.

Please read this article. It says even if the Republicans took the House, the Senate, the presidency they can do noting to stop the revolution or end “wokeness”. Politicians can do nothing. The Deep State and its allies have total control. Do you have arguments against it? (I posted it also as a separate topic and invited comments there - preferably.)

Well, slogging knee-deep thru the swamp was bad enough. After reading that I feel like I just stepped into a pit of quicksand hidden underneath it.

Did you read many of the comments? I always find that there is more to think about than just the article, which is ponderous to me, and I skimmed a lot.

It will not be our elected leaders that cause Wokeness to go underground. It will be us. Some of regular people’s efforts will affect decision making and that is to the good. But more to an everyday point, wokeness scorned by the aware will continue to knock it down.

Is there an Awakening against the Wokening? I think so.

It’s the “wealth-foundation- NGO- Government policy” racket, the influence weilded by “The Big Three” asset managers, and the laws based on the Civil Rights Act that are creating so much of the swamp, exerting too much control over our politicians.
