I was listening to this interview of a Dutch professor of “political science”, Kees Van Der Pijl (University of Sussex), who sounds a bit left-wing at times but he makes a very excellent point about the “zero Covid” movement I think (@58 minutes in):

Not to mention all the BATS (aren’t they a PROTECTED SPECIES?) !!!
The book summary describes most of the stuff that you and others have been posting - and he’s absolutely right. Except in thinking that they failed.
I don’t think we’ve escaped it yet. Having gotten this far with it, I’m sure they have another “crisis” in the works, maybe , as he suggests, a deadlier virus.
