What Was, Was; Now What Will Be?

From the linked article:

Trump won’t be around forever. Which is one reason that Carlson, Fuentes, Candace Owens, and other online influencers are pushing so hard to try and remake the Republican Party and the conservative movement into one that is hostile toward Israel and the Jewish people.

The idea that it should be seen as the America First position to oppose Israel and American Jewry is not only a moral abomination; it makes no sense. Israel is a technologically innovative, staunchly pro-American nation in the heart of a strategically important region. Over the past several years, with U.S. support, Israeli actions have weakened the anti-American terrorist group the Houthis; neutered Hezbollah (the terrorist group that slaughtered 241 U.S. servicemembers in the 1983 Marine Barracks bombing); and crippled the nuclear program of a nation that has for decades vowed “Death to America.” It isn’t pro-Israel protesters in the U.S. who are burning American flags and calling for the “total eradication of Western civilization” — it is the so-called pro-Palestine movement. It wasn’t Israelis who handed out candy to celebrate the September 11 attacks — that was Palestinians.

Comment:

Most Western Jews are not religious. Hatred of Jews on vague and ignorant religious grounds is Low IQ. But then, most people are Low IQ. If the world is going to destroy all discoverable Jews, and be put under the power of No IQ robots, we will indeed have reached the end of history.

Yes, Carlson and Fuentes view of Israel is “not only an abomination, it makes no sense”. At least not to conservatives. It fits in well with the leftist, anti-American, pro-palestinian crowd, though. It is so obviously at odds with decency and common sense, there’s no excuse to not see it.
And those who are condoning it by ignoring it should be condemned.
It’s really too bad that Tucker, through their friendship, was able to have such an influence on Charlie Kirk, that before his assassination Kirk was beginning to absorb some of Carlsons anti-Israel views, and that after his death Carlson was invited to speak at Kirk’s funeral - which he exploited to push anti-Israel smears - and wormed his way onto Kirks show, and the TPUSA tours.
I’m sure he’ll exploit those opportunities as well.
He should be exposed for the snake he is, along with his sneaky little agenda to discredit Israel and fracture the conservative movement.

I have to see any explanation for the venomous hatred of Israel and the Jewish people that Candace and Tucker now spew almost daily. Why this sudden volte-face?

An explanation I’ve read is that they are pushing anti-Israel propaganda from enemies like Iran, to fracture the US support for Israel which has always been strong among eveangelicals.
Thats why I think Carlson (who was never particularly religious in the past, ro my knowledge) has suddenly begun proclaiming his Christian faith, which is now “offended” by the oh-so-unchristian concept of “Christian Zionism”.
I don’t know how he ended up there (was he a “plant” all along?) but he’s in a deep dark hole.

Even more disturbing is Johnson’s article “The Tucker Tailwind”, which shows J.D. Vance to also be under the influence of - or at least in agreement with - Carlson.
His response to the (I think setup) question from the audience member (probably one of Fuentes “groypers”, doing what Fuentes used to do at other TPUSA events) was concerning.
Now my suspicion meter is kicking in - is he a “plant”, too, like Carlson, and was his recent conversion to Catholicism simply a set-up for this?
If he gets elected to replace Trump in '28, it may not be so great after all.

I just read the Tucker Tailwind article. This is increasingly disturbing. I have also heard that Tucker’s main financial backer is one Malek, who also happens to be Don Jr’s business partner.

Yes, I’ve read that, too. Of course, Carlson denies that this funding means that he’s shilling for Islamists, but he might as well be, since he couldn’t do a better job of it if they paid him!

I certainly worry about Turning Point, too. Charlie was more focussed on political issues than Erica, who seems so drenched in Christianity that I am most uncomfortable listening to her.

All that information is troubling.

Can you give us links please, Cogito?

I just read this in an emailed newsletter:

A BDS resolution that accuses Jewish students of “weaponizing antisemitism” and blames labor disputes on “Zionist interests” is advancing in the Cornell University Graduate Student Union.

Surely a quip by a Jewish comedian? No. It’s real!

Wow. Thats rich, coming from the people who not only weaponized “Islamophobia”, they invented the word!!

I couldn’t find links, but I asked AI:

Got it — thanks for clarifying.

Yes, that’s true: Omeed Malik is widely reported to be a financial backer of Tucker Carlson, and a business partner of Donald Trump Jr.

Here’s how those links fit together:

:small_blue_diamond: Tucker Carlson & Omeed Malik

  • Malik’s 1789 Capital (a venture fund he founded) has invested in Tucker Carlson’s media company, which Carlson launched after leaving Fox News in 2023.
  • Multiple outlets — including Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and Reuters — have reported that Malik helped raise capital and provided funding for Carlson’s digital media ventures (notably Tucker Carlson Network).
  • Malik has also appeared at events and interviews alongside Carlson and has been described as one of the funders who “seeded” Carlson’s post-Fox business.

:small_blue_diamond: Donald Trump Jr. & Omeed Malik

  • In 2024, Donald Trump Jr. joined Malik’s firm 1789 Capital as a partner.
  • 1789 Capital brands itself as an “anti-ESG,” “patriotic investing” venture fund, aimed at financing companies that align with conservative cultural values.
  • As partners, Don Jr. and Malik collaborate on investments and public advocacy projects.

:small_blue_diamond: The summary connection

So in plain terms:

Omeed Malik financially backed Tucker Carlson’s ventures, and he is also business partners with Donald Trump Jr.

Yes, it’s not surprising that Erica would emphasize the Christian aspect even more, considering women are more tuned to emotions and religious belief is an emotional thing, as Backwoods has pointed out. Also, can’t blame her for leaning on it even more as an emotional crutch in a time of such devastating loss and grief.
It’s tolerable, until people like Fuentes and Carlson take advantage of it and “weaponize” it against Jews, to divide Christian support for Israel.

Thanks, Cogito.

But … Oh djeezes! Not good at all.

Where I wonder is that elusive conservative reporter who should right now be asking Omeed Malik whether he really means to back Carlson’s anti-Jew crusade.

And then going on to ask Don Jr. if he sympathizes with that crusade.

If in both cases the hypothetical answer is “No - but I didn’t know” - which would obviously be a lie - a change of the funding arrangements for both enterprises will be urgently necessary.

But if the answer is “Yes”, what then?

Exactly! This needs to be seriously investigated, and whatever the truth is, exposed.
Either Malik is in agreement with Carlsons views, which makes his funding highly suspect, or he’s not, which begs the question - why has he said nothing? And the same goes for Don Jr.

It’s interesting that at the end of that article, there’s one guy that says AI may be just an “excuse” for the layoffs. I’m wondering if there may be a connection between that and something else I read - that alot of these companies are still using cheap labor of H1B immigrants. Maybe they’re firing them to prevent becoming a target of scrutiny and deportations.
Don’t know, but it’s a possibility.

What then, indeed. This is very unnerving.

I’ll add that Malik has a Pakistani father and Iranian mother. Need I say more?
