War to the Limit of the Possible

Quote:
Andrew Fox was an officer in the British Army from 2005-21, retiring with the rank of Major. He completed three tours in Afghanistan, including one attached to U.S. Army Special Forces. He is a lecturer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Here he explains what US officials don’t understand about Israel’s strategy in Gaza.

Quote from the end of Andrew Fox’s essay, first published by Tablet magazine and then by the New York Post:
Western critics need to eat humble pie and accept that, on the evidence of the last 20 years, our tactics are not to be recommended. What we are seeing in Gaza is not a failure. It’s a quite brilliant IDF operational design, within the bounds of what is realistically possible.

Read it all to see why he comes to that conclusion.

Yes, Israel is doing a phenomenal job - the rescue of the last four hostages was an amazing example.
Hamas should be completely obliterated, but considering all the limits being imposed on the IDF, this seems to be a good strategy.
