US Had Drone Locked on Kabul Bomber, Was Denied Permission to Take Shot

The U.S. military could have stopped the suicide bomber who last week set off an explosion that killed 13 U.S. service members and many Afghan civilians.
It’s yet another strike against the credibility of the Biden administration and the Defense Department, and should lead to resignations and court-martials for high-ranking members of the administration.

But it almost certainly won’t.

Yes, of course the Pentagon is denying it, but as the article says, they’ve earned our suspicion, not our trust. I’d be more surprised if they were telling the truth than if they were lying.
And considering the abjectly horrendous way they have handled the entire operation so far, no one should be surprised if this did actually happen.
