UK's Orwellian Online "Safety" Bill

Yes, it turns everyone into compliant subjects rather than free citizens.

This could get interesting (if he shows up), he would have a great opportunity to explain to these half-wits what is wrong with their legislation:

Elon Musk Summoned by UK Parliament over Twitter Free Speech Promises

The idiots apparently sent the “summons” to the wrong address.

Its unbelievable how quickly the concept of “free speech” has been so demonized by the Thought Police in government and media.
“Hate Speech” and “misinformation” are suddenly the most dire threats to existence, and cannot be tolerated.
But of course - they just want to protect all of us helpless, powerless snowflakes from reality - how can we not be grateful for their compassion?

What could possibly go wrong with that! There have probably been many security breaches that have never come to light as well.

A great discussion here (45 mins if you have time for it) on the bill and freedom of speech more generally, hosted on gettr with Jason Miller of gettr participating, also Toby Young (Daily Sceptic/Free Speech Union), Lawrence Fox (Reclaim Party), Harry Miller, and Dominique Samuels:

One issue that former policeman Harry Miller raised was the impact of this document on the judiciary, he says there are 78 paragraph s devoted to trans rights, gender issues etc., and he says the judiciary are supposed to pay high regard to the document:

I can’t bring myself to listen to it. My life expectation is definitely too short for such masochistic sessions. Though I do like and admire Lawrence Fox. And I don’t want to discourage other Forum members from paying attention to it.

“78 paragraphs devoted to trans rights, gender issues etc.” alone condemn the document they are discussing. The British and American fixation on transgendering is exhibit number one for the Case of the Lost Plot.

78 pages devoted to trans rights, and the latest judge appointed can’t even define what a woman is. Wonderful.

Not only is the opposition predictably not opposing the bill, they are ratcheting it up - making it even worse:

When will Western governments re-introduce burning at the stake as a form of punishment for disobedience, thought crime, heresy in general, do you think? Can’t be far off now.

I suppose it depends on orders from Führer Klaus Schwab?

Probably! But it will most likely be in the form of an injection - they prefer killing people with those now, unless its an actual criminal - then they’re against it.

Toby Young is making logical objections to the bill, but unfortunately this bill was never meant to be logical:

“Toby Young: Don’t be fooled. The Online Safety Bill poses a grave threat to our tradition of free speech. - Conservative Home”

That’s a big problem with trying to debate leftists - nothing they demand is logical, and isn’t meant to be. It’s meant to undermine and destroy.
Its a mistake to even accept the premise and try to moderate it - once you do that you’ve already lost.

Anyone who goes to social media to learn the truth, is an idiot.

The social media are not intended to be news outlets. And even purported news outlets publish misinformation almost all the time, almost exclusively (only very rarely, and probably accidentally, letting truth slip out). Misinforming the public is their social role, the fulfillment of their public duty.

The only point of such a bill is the extension of government power.

More proof, as if more were needed, that the governing Conservative Party of the UK is not remotely conservative. It’s a dictatorial socialist party through and through.

Phew, freedom of speech has a stay of execution. Toby Young lists the groups that have been campaigning against it:

Big Brother Watch, Index on Censorship, the Institute of Economic Affairs, the Adam Smith Institute, the Centre for Policy Studies, and many others

I hope this is more than just a bump in the road for them. Because they won’t give up trying to do it, one way or another.

Indeed they will keep trying, but 3 months is a big window of opportunity because the campaign for payments for the jab injured is gathering steam, I’m just about to post something on that. I suspect that many ordinary/backbench MPs are probably ignorant of, or more likely “in denial” about, the true nature of what’s going on, and genuinely believe the jab program was a great success.

If these ordinary MPs start to wake up to the fact that something is not right in time they may start to smell a rat in the Online Safety Bill’s section on misinformation and disinformation, particularly as there is specific reference to the “vaccines” I believe in relation to that. Another thing is the bill is very unpopular among the grassroots, and during the campaign there will be an opportunity for them to voice opposition to the bill.
