Ukraine bio-labs

I thought I’d start a dedicated topic for this, as it seems to be a major issue worthy of scrutiny. Another subject that really belongs in multiple categories - Health, Politics, Foreign Affairs, Crime probably as well.

EXCLUSIVE WHO says it advised Ukraine to destroy pathogens in health labs to prevent disease spread

I’ve heard (of course) alot of conflicting info on this already. Steve Bannon had a Dr. (Can’t remember his name) on his show who knew alot about these labs, and he said they were just run of the mill research labs, not for bio-weapons.
Bannon didn’t agree with him, tho, because, understandably, in light of Wuhan, he doesn’t trust any bio lab funded by our government.
But the Russians also say they’re for bio-weapons, and they also lie alot.
The UN accused the Russians of lying, of course, but who believes anything the UN says, either?!

A spokesperson for, or excusing, the swamp, would say that wouldn’t they. Apparently these labs have been experimenting with bubonic plague, anthrax, and other deadly pathogens. I don’t care if they are claimed to be “defensive”, my mossburg is defensive, but it can still blow a hole right through you.
Ukraine is a failed state, the poorest in Europe, with no central governing authority, instead being ruled by groups, some of whom are very nasty people indeed.
This is, of course, the point; the CIA and others can place these labs in Ukraine (and other places) far from any effective oversight. We need to face the fact that the world’s foremost rogue state is the US (because of its size and power).
We had better address this, by electing a strong, moral, person who knows how to take the swamp on and drain it. A vigorous tweeter won’t cut it.

Well, Trump is going to run, and as in 16, he’ll likely be the only one with a good chance to win in a landslide. But, as the last election proved, if we don’t stop the vote fraud in time, that won’t matter.

The US is certainly NOT “the world’s foremost rogue state”. Do you really not know what goes on in most of the countries of the world? Surely you cannot be unaware of the roguery of China or failed to notice rogue behavior on the part of Russia lately? Maybe you have traveled in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Somalia, Nigeria, Cuba, but inexplicably failed to observe what’s happening in those places?

You obviously are referring to Donald Trump as “a vigorous tweeter”. You believe he achieved nothing but vigorous tweets? Yet you think you have an opinion worth taking seriously?

Ms Becker; during the entire time of Trump’s Presidency, Dept. of Labor lawyers conducted a vicious campaign against Oracle, and others, alledging “systemic discrimination” because the demographic makeup of their engineering depts. did not reflect society at large (ie: not enough blacks). In my 55 years career in electrical design engineering I have met 1 black person who was competent.
This cheerleading for the US is getting very tiresome, as it is not backed up by any reasonable assessment of the facts (ask Vicki Weaver about due process). Many of the Jan 6th protesters are still being held in appalling conditions and are routinely tortured by sadistic, mainly black, guards, 2 have committed suicide. They have forced by ruthless intimidation and violent coercion to plead guilty to trumped up charges, this is the truth about the US.
President of the USA is not an entry level political job. Despite what the massive ego of Trump might think. He came in with no plan, no team, no strategy and no political ability whatsoever. Even so he was better than her. He is a distraction, an embittered old man who cannot accept his defeat. If he had the slightest concern for the Country he would encourage a younger team to tackle our problems and selflessly help them in any way he could. But he won’t, because he is a narcissistic egomaniac. He was a very good real estate developer though, he should stick to that.
I don’t give a damn about what is happening in the places you list; they are shitholes, always have been and always will be.

I disagree with you about Trump, but I agree that, under the rule of the illegitimately elected Biden, the US is a rogue state in the sense that it’s been taken over by leftist traitors who are steering it towards its destruction.
Trumps ego, or failures, are beside the point - he did more to challenge the ruling class and steer us in the right direction than any President in recent history.

Liz,
Not true; JFK did, and it cost him his life.

They are shitholes, but the US is worse than any of them? You are so irrational you don’t deserve replies, especially as you are a JFK fan and not a conservative. But everyone is free to say what he likes here - and then brace himself for what comes back at him.

The US is worse because it has more power.
Yes, I am a JFK fan, he was more conservative than the idiot Trump, that is for sure. Any comparison of the two is basically meaningless; JFK understood politics, he understood the American system. He hated the CIA, they had lied to him about Russian capabilities, and about the situation in SE Asia. He distrusted (to put it politely) the Fed Reserve, and thought that the US treasury could issue banknotes just as they issued coinage. Trump had self-confidence (entirely un-merited). He is a 1st class prick.
What comes back? Bring it on.

You enjoy insulting Trump, but don’t give any good reasons why.
Would you rather have had Hillary, or Bill, or Obama? Or even either one of the Bush’s, or Jimmy Carter? They were all leftists or Rinos.
Trump made the country energy independent, improved the economy, actually took steps to fix our illegal immigration problem, and presided over a historic peace treaty between Israel and Muslim states, among many other things.
But I guess you prefer the idiot Biden.

This conversation has wandered way off topic, but I am genuinely interested to know why you’re not a fan of JFK so I’ve started a new topic.

Please can we stay on topic, I’m interested in views on JFK though so I started a new topic:

I think JFK did one good thing - his space program.

One must remember that he didn’t have much time in the presidency. He might have done more.

Here’s a list of what someone thinks he accomplished. Is there something here that impresses you?

Thanks for posting that - a good refresher course!

Not on most of those policies no, it’s all the lefty stuff that got us into this mess, thanks.

I talk about the list under the topic headed “Was JFK a Good Guy?”

Here’s what I wrote there:

About the “accompllshments” of JFK:

Yes, he was courageous.

But -

Peace Corps - a horror.

Khrushchev screwed him over right royally.

He hugely betrayed the rebels against Castro. Okay, he finally did the right thing by blockading Soviet shipping.

Poor guy had a perpetually sore back. And he was shot to death. I’m no fan, as I said, but I am very sorry for what he endured and how his life was ended.

As for his quoted speeches, there is not one that I find particularly impressive, and some, though expressed as if memorable apothegms, are actually quite shallow. The worst of them, I think, is that one about not asking what your country etc.

Who asks, “What can my country do for me?” Have you ever asked it?

And as for asking. “What can I do for my country?” - well, most of us would defend it, unless one was a traitor like, say, John Kerry, or Joe or Hunter Biden, or Barack Obama. (Substitute “my people” for my country", and George Soros can be added to the little black list.)

JFK did some good service for his country. His space program was grand. And yes, he was a cultured man with good manners, some erudition, an attractive personality. A philanderer first class, but that did not interfere with his public service.

He was a star. He looked like a star. He was NOT one of the great president of the USA.

FDR was one of the very bad ones domestically - a socialist as Liz says, with Communists advising him, and his rotten policies prolonging the depression - and he liked of all people the monster Stalin … but he did lead the nation to victory in WWII.

Reagan and Trump are the two truly great presidents of the last hundred years. Reagan - along with Thatcher - won the Cold War. Trump put a stop - temporary only as it turned out - to the tragic decline of the marvelous American republic. Now the decline has resumed and continues at ever increasing pace.

I have no idea who is telling the truth about all this:

“The 46 US labs in Ukraine and the $200 Pentagon program that sparked a propaganda war: How ex-Soviet facilities housing pathogens prompted Kremlin claims America is building bioweapons in Putin’s back yard”
