UK Leadership Contender Says He Opposed Lockdown

Rishi Sunak, one of the two remaining candidates to be the next UK Prime Minister, has declared himself to be a lockdown sceptic in spite of the fact that he was part of the cabinet that brought in the lockdowns. I am sceptical about Sunak’s scepticism, but it does seem to me to be an encouraging sign that a leadership contender is even voicing these kind of arguments. This is not an endorsement of Sunak, I don’t like either candidate.

Paywall but you get the gist:

“Rishi Sunak is just the start. The great lockdown scandal is about to unravel”

With massive illegal crossing of the English Channel, lockdown is not that important.

I think they are both very important issues. I cannot understand why the “conservative” government is unable to solve both problems.

No I think you may be using an old email address perhaps? I’ve sent you an email from my current one.

Indeed, personally I don’t believe that the lockdowns were ever really even intended to stop the spread of respiratory illness. The corporate fascists who run the world want to concentrate wealth and power in their own hands and one way they can do that is by putting their smaller competitors out of business. Lockdowns drove small businesses to the wall, now Sunak is belatedly and desperately trying to curry favour with the Tory Party grassroots, many of whom are small business people.

Yes, like everyone else who went along with it, hes just trying to cover his rear end.
