The United States and Qatar

In your personal opinion, is President Trump right or wrong to remain on friendly terms with the ruling princes of Qatar?

If you think he is right, can you explain his reasons?

From what I’ve heard, they are as bad as Iran on funding terrorists. They give the leaders of Hamas a safe haven. I don’t think they should be trusted.
But Trump may have strategic reasons for remaining on at least apparently friendly tems with them, which are beyond me.
Just as he appears, at least, to be on friendly terms with the terrorist in charge of Syria right now.
I think he favors the strategy “walk softly and carry a big stick”, which usually seems to work well.
What do you think he should do in Iran?
Though I’ve said before I tend to be “non-interventionist”, in this case I’m very interventionist!
I really wish he would wipe out the muslim regime there. But then there is the danger of MEK taking over, which is communist, so it might end up worse off… (this according to an article on Gellers site).

I impatiently await the news of what he is doing for the people of Iran.

I agree with what you say.

Qatar is a corrupt, Islamic thuggish state. It is decidedly, not only anti-Semitic, but treacherously anti-American. I think Trump was foolish to accept the Qatari jet last year.

An article at Powerline, “Did Trump Chicken Out On Iran?” says that several Arab states - along with Israel - urged him not to strike, and apparently he agreed. Hinderaker says he thinks this is absurd, and I agree. I guess we will see, but I imagine it will be a huge discouragement to the protesters.
And I won’t be surprised if the Mullahs continue to kill those who do continue protesting, and to torture and execute prisoners.

Oh my djeeziz!

But does it make sense - that (Sunni?) Arab states, and Israel want the Ayatollocracy (just coined that word) to remain in power?

Or what otherwise is intended, I wonder.

Yes, it doesn’t really make sense to me.

The danger to the US of the administration’s befriending of the snaky-state Qatar is becoming unmistakably clear:

No mention of Israel. I thought there would not be. Geller’s researchers can be mistaken.

I can’t believe he would actually trust them. I’m hoping he has other plans. But then I see a claim that Tucker Carlson - Qatars shill - has also met with him. Not a good development, if true…
