The True Scale Of National Debt - UK

The West is massively in debt, the US in particular, this reality has not hit home yet (nations are living on the never never) but it will. $222 trillion for the US by one estimate.

That debt is not the fault of capitalism it’s the fault of politicians.

Exactly right. Between the politicians and the FED, we’ll never see the end of it.

Who controls the politicians and the Fed?
The big donors do. Who are they?
The banks, big pharma, big ag, the MIC, etc.
In other words; the capitalists.

And how do these “capitalists” get away with that?
By collusion with their “cronies”, corrupt politicians.
So why blame capitalists only, when their “partners in crime” - corrupt politicians - are the root of the problem? Would Socialism solve the problem?
No, that just gives even more power to the corrupt politicians.

I don’t blame the capitalists only.
In socialist countries (not like Sweden or Denmark; more Venezuela like). The problem is much worse.
The problem in the US is that the US House of Representatives is too small.
Members spend about 30 hours per week fundraising, the most successful get the plum jobs on committee. They naturally gravitate to the wealthy who need favors.
The system stinks.

Yes, the system, because of the corruption that has overtaken it, definitely needs reform.

Many capitalists are villains.

It is not the fault of capitalism.

As to the politicians, expanding the House would only expand the problem.

We need less government, not more.

Who votes for the politicians? The poorly informed and short-sighted voters do, the problem is universal suffrage.

I’d be interested in your further thoughts on that.

Churchill said something against democracy but added something to the effect that all other systems of government were worse.

What would you have instead of it?

I don’t advocate for an end to democracy, I just question universal suffrage. I will revisit it with a post however as it’s too much to put in a comment.

I would appreciate that. The subject needs its own posting. (I tried contacting you personally about this but your email address has apparently changed.)

Of course I believe you, not It, but It wouldn’t delver my email to you.

It’s okay now. I look forward to your posting the new topic about universal suffrage.
