The Future of the West - Believing or Doubting, Free or Submitting?

The Enlightenment tamed the Western churches. Their power was broken. Atheism became not only respectable but imperative among the philosophers and their followers.

In America, where many forms of Christianity persist ubiquitously, the Believers cannot now order the destruction of lives. And many Christians, especially evangelicals, are tolerant of religious differences among their fellow citizens.

But Islam is not to be tolerated. It murders or enslaves infidels. It crushes women. It hurts and humiliates children. It does not share our enlightened values.

What will tame Islam? Its power is growing in the West. Will Muslims undo the Enlightenment?

How should Islam be dealt with by Western liberals and conservatives, whether believers in God or not?

Yes, Islam cannot be allowed to “undo the Enlightenment” - which it will if it gains supremacy - and therefore must not be tolerated.
President Trump is taking great steps in the right direction by halting all immigration from many Muslim countries, and deporting many that are already here. He also has declared the MB a foreign terrorist organization.
The question is, will he go far enough with it?

An article at Gatestone, “Qatar’s Campus Conquest…” gives a very revealing look at how Qatar is funding and promoting the Muslim Brotherhood agenda, to turn Americans against Israel, and divide us internally.
And that’s also who, at least allegedly, is funding Carlson. It would fit, considering his rhetoric.

Check out the following video on YouTube for a different perspective on the future of Islam. The thesis of the video is that Islam will be erased from the map in the not too distant future.

Optimism. It cheers and reassures its listeners. And it could be right!

Thanks, Rob!

I do worry about the damage that Islam could inflict before its demise, should that occur.
Maybe President Trump will succeed, but, unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be anyone waiting in the lineup that would be capable enough, or willing enough, to carry on once he leaves office.
So call me very cautiously optimistic.

Yes, we’ll be extremely lucky if we get another President that’s even close to Trump in any way.
It already seems “miraculous” that he made it into that office at all - twice! - and survived so many attacks - bogus charges, impeachments, lawfare, election fraud, assassination attempts…
He’s one in a million.

Yes, very encouraging. I’m not too sure which will conquer first though - the jihad or the internet.
We’ll see…

I’m not optimistic. I see the information age diminishing religion, but I don’t think it’s going away.

Yes, believers in religion will find a way to insulate themselves from facts and logic no matter what.
And the internet, with the help of AI, seems to be only too happy to help people sink into even deeper delusions!

AI has yet to impress me. So far what I’ve seen of it is ridiculous photos, poorly made videos, and commentary with mispronounced words and total obliviousness to context. Recently, the thumbnail for a YouTube video showed a sunken aircraft carrier with a gun emplacement in the middle of the flight deck. Needless to say, I didn’t bother clicking on that one.

Yes, and it has no problem lying and just making stuff up out of thin air, apparently!

AI would make a good theist.
