What do you yourself think of the article, Cogito?
Does it make consistent sense to you?
What is he getting at?
I admired Mark Steyn for many years but it seems to me that he is now unsure of his own position.
It may be that I am simply missing his point. But I don’t know what his point is.
I was delighted when Trump agreed with Netanyahu that Iran’s military installations must be destroyed, and they went ahead and destroyed them.
I think I understand him. He’s saying that the US has not won a war since WWII. It’s military record is horrible. Most military authorities would agree with him that air wars are never successful, except for the atomic bombs used against Japan. He’s saying that we have been down this road before with wars in the Middle East. They never end. I am not unsympathetic with these views, but time will tell if Steyn is correct or not.
Yes, not sure but he seems to be having doubts about it. To me the goal of destroying terrorists and fanatical Muslim extremists - who may have nukes and want to destroy us - is obviously needed.
The problem is, they’re so fanatical that they refuse to admit defeat, and apparently plan to take their entire country, and those around it, down with them.
