Whoever replaces him, especially in this environment, is going to be an absolute nightmare for the West.
If there was any figment of goodwill in Washington DC, agreements would have been made that guaranteed world and european security. That is not the plan of the hegemonistic thugs in DC. They actually think that they can win a nuclear war. Trump could have cleared them out, but he was utterly unsuited to the task.
