You could be right. One thing I’m sure of is that whatever we end up doing, Biden will screw it up!
Pretty obvious who the real “blackmail-controlled puppets” of Russia (and China) are…
Flashback to Biden and Putin in Moscow meeting:
Just noticed the politicians that criticise Putin for recognition of the two separatist territories in Ukraine are the same people that recognise Kosovo, Northern Cyprus and Palestine as a state.
I only know about the latter, can someone tell me the details of Kosovo and Northern Cyprus?
That’s very interesting.
I don’t know enough about Kosovo or Northern Cyprus to say, but I definitely recognize the “free the Palestinians” narrative as leftist propaganda.
And you can bet that anything our government and media are pushing is also leftist propaganda…
In December 1994, the United States, Great Britain, Russia and Ukraine signed the Memorandum on Security Assurances in Connection with Ukraine’s Accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, more commonly known as the Budapest Memorandum.
In that document, the three parties made six commitments to Ukraine. In the most important of the pledges, they stated that they “reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the CSCE Final Act, to respect the independence and sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine.”
To induce Ukraine to give up the nuclear weapons inherited on the dissolution of the Soviet Union—Ukraine ended up with some 6,000 warheads, the world’s third-largest arsenal at the time—the U.S., Great Britain, and Russia agreed to provide assurances. If Washington were to allow Russia to gobble up the rest of Ukraine, it would tell non-nuclear states they must have nuclear arsenals because they cannot rely on the nuclear weapons powers for security.
Thanks, that clarifies it alot.
So we made this agreement, therefore are obligated to stick to it.
I think it was a bad agreement to begin with.
Ukraine should have known Russia wouldn’t keep it’s promises - and that the U.S. is unreliable, as it’s policy changes with each President.
They should have just kept their 6000 warheads as their best defense against attack, rather than trust other, stronger countries to keep their promises.
Biden should put sanctions on Russia - that would possibly be enough of a deterrent. But it doesn’t look like he’s going to, as he (unlike Trump) is so vulnerable to blackmail by Russia for his involvement in the “Russian Collusion” hoax, and his corrupt dealings with the Russians, Ukrainians and Chinese…
Right. Calling for the complete destruction of America because of “systemic racism”, blah blah blah, and burning down cities isn’t treason- no, not at all!! But expressing “unacceptable opinions” and disagreeing with the Dictator’s policies is.
Yes, Taiwan will likely be the next thing…
Well one of the 50 gazillion things I heard about Ukraine awhile back was that Putin had already made an agreement with them. So it would make sense that the Ukranian soldiers welcomed them.
It’s laughable - and so predictable - that the Clowns in charge are now attempting to blame Ukraine for all the problems they’ve caused us themselves.
Mitt Romney is somehow blaming Trump for Russia invading Ukraine.
