Republicans Start Moving Against the Corrupt DOJ and FBI

Quote:
The question at hand is: what are the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee going to do now that they have compiled all of this information into the proverbial “bombshell” report? Rep. Jim Jordan has sent a sternly-worded “warning letter” to Garland, telling him that there will be an investigation and to preserve all records in the DOJ’s possession. And I am sure that upon receipt of the letter, things immediately began to be lost, misplaced, redacted, and “accidentally thrown away".
But let’s say for the sake of argument that there is a red wave on Tuesday and that the Democrats’ attempts to stop or delay it are thwarted. What then? A drawn-out series of hearings culminating in nothing? Or will people be fired and jailed where necessary, and funding cut and oversight put in place so that this never happens again?

Comment:
At least Republicans are starting to do something about DOJ and FBI corruption.

Read the list of (some of) the accusations:

“Whistleblowers have described the Bureau’s Washington hierarchy as ‘rotted at its core’, and has maintained a ‘systemic culture of unaccountability’.
The Bureau has also been accused of purging employees who do not toe the line, that is, any who hold conservative views.
[But] on page five of the report, the Committee reminds all DOJ and FBI employees that they have a right to speak to Congress and will be protected by federal law.
Any employees with more information regarding any abuse of power by the Justice Department are very much encouraged to step forward and be heard.”

Not only are the DOJ and FBI rotted at their core, they are observably rotted at their heads.

If the past is anything to go by, it will just be “a drawn out series of hearings culminating in nothing”. But its nice to imagine that if the Red Wave actually happens, heads will actually roll!
