Real Clear Hate

Quote:
Many professors who preach falsehoods and hate are tenured and their influence will not easily be contained. They control the processes whereby the next generation of scholars is trained, hired, promoted, and tenured.

I had long heard that colleges and universities had become liberal indoctrination centers. A few months ago I got a first-hand look at that. I have no formal education beyond high school. I began to toy with the idea of getting a degree. A look at what an online degree would cost gave me a real bad case of sticker shock. I decided to take an online military history course that would result in a certificate. It would at least scratch the itch. But when they mentioned diversity about 15 times in the first 2 minutes, I closed the door and walked away.

I’ve already acquired a lot of knowledge without a degree to show for it. I can continue to do so.

One thing this article fails to mention is the underlying reason for this growing antisemitism - the fact that academia has been infiltrated for decades and is now controlled by Marxists and communist indoctrination.
Of course professors are going to “fail” to stop the trend, because they are already indoctrinated!
The government needs to stop funding them, just as it should stop funding the UN and all the NGOs.
Then de-bank and deport Soros and all his ilk, and cut off foreign funding to their organizations.

I congratulate you, Backwoods. Your efforts to expand your education, and to abandon academe, are laudable, indeed. I am a physician, and many people, therefore, consider me to be well-educated. This is a profound error. Doctors are trained in this skill or that, but are NOT educated. I am an autodidact. Everything I know about the world, I have learned from personal study of art, literature, history, and philosophy. Matthew Arnold said that culture is knowing the best that has been thought or said in the world. This has been my goal. This is an education. Good luck to you.

Thanks. You just increased my education. I had to look up the meaning of autodidact. Yep. It fits.

At my age, it takes effort to stay physically active. I don’t think I could stop my mind from being active if I wanted to. My mind is going to find something to do. I often think of something my brother pointed out about the theme from the TV series Barnaby Jones. The theme had a soft, easy flute part on top and a fast paced bass part underneath. He said it was a reflection of Barnaby’s character. On the outside Barnaby was just a laidback old country boy. But underneath it his mind was always whirling.
