Yes, sounds like a great deal - a win for both sides!
I’m still not convinced that it wouldn’t give the advantage to the Democrats, though, who are so gloriously imploding now under the weight of their own corruption, stupidity and insanity.
If I had a choice, I’d rather exile all our Dems to Canada than invite a bunch more just like them into the US.

I agree with Senator Kennedy that if Canada removed their tarriffs, Trump would remove his - which would result in actual “free trade”.
That, as I understand it, is the whole point of Trump’s imposition of his tarrifs - to get other countries to remove theirs.
I saw a tweet posted by Bill Ackman (posted at Citizen Free Press) that explains it. He also includes a video by VD Hanson explaining it.
After WW2, we allowed other countries to impose tarriffs in order to rebuild their own economies, but this continued even after their recoveries.
Then we outsourced our manufacturing, and the US economy has gone downhill since the 70’s.
So Trump is simply trying to restore our economy by restoring free trade and bringing manufacturing back to the US.

I’m just not sure what Trump’s goal is here. Is he using tariffs as a cudgel to force other countries to reduce or eliminate all tariffs on US goods, with the goal to eventually eliminate all American tariffs too? So there would be a truly global free trade zone. If so, I can live with his short term economic disruptions. If his goal is to use tariffs as a permanent barrier to importing foreign goods, then the American consumer will be the big loser. I just don’t know. I’m not sure if he even knows. But, as one of the talking heads said the other day, it’s never smart to bet against Trump.
