Oh for Pete’s sake! You know what I think of artists or art critics, who want historical or contemporary art to be interpreted as so much more wonderful and full of meaning than merely a painting of rare or mediocre quality? They are full of crap 99% of the time.
I have to admit that I scanned a lot of the gobbledegook from the article, because it flew right over my head, but I will say this; if the ancient blacks of Africa were so instrumental in acting as an example and/or tutor to the cultures and civilization of the non-black peoples of the world, they sure have fallen far from any sort of example in recent centuries.

Yes, we’re being reduced to the level of countries controlled by ISIS, who destroy ancient monuments and priceless artifacts. They’ve already destroyed our monuments, they are rewriting history (and “disappearing” archives like yours in Leicester), and now they will begin destroying art.

Agreed. At some point, accountability and pride in culture should supersede victimhood… unless the culture is victimhood
