Old Imperial Russia Confronts the Decaying West

So, OK, you believe in the free market fairy. It is not pro-Russian, it is an assessement of the impact that American financial thuggery is going to have on the international economic situation.
Look, Ms Becker, even I don’t care what I think. Reality is reality. People have different ideas, politics take account of those ideas and tries to find a consensus.
Actually I would describe myself as a Christian atheist. In my personal life I have received great comfort from the Christian concept of redemption. I have failed, but I have got back on the wagon and redeemed myself. You may have contempt for that concept. But I have drawn back from suicide to a position of respect in my family. We are all faulted beings, unless you believe in nothing.
Individual freedom? How would you reconcile to any western nation now?

Thank you, Jillian. I well remember this episode from 18 years ago, I think. I cried too. My heart swelled. I was happy to be among my fellow patriots across the USA, who feared for our nation and who recognized that our elected leaders were not the same as we in our respect for the Republic, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

We were and are not alone, and we did and still do surround them.

I felt (and wrote this online at several forums) during his time on television that Glenn Beck was one of the most important people for our time…in the world. I still think that.

You call his response to the discussions he has and the events that occur in his life and ours as fake emotions. You disdain his “sentimentality” which you take to mean as fake and forced emotional display.

Do you believe that I exhibit fake emotional displays, when I speak of my hope, my feelings about my country, my feelings about our future or my determination to continue to hope?

I sob when watching school marching bands. I cry easily at sentimental moments that I witness. I always tear up when a color guard presents our nation’s flag. I cry when I watch a video of Luciano Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma, and the older he is, the more I cry. I cry all the way through “The Sound of Music”…every time.

Are you so jaded, Jillian, that you cannot allow strong emotions to affect a person’s performance when they are struggling to convey their fears and concerns and passion concerning our shared future?

There have been attacks on Beck from the time he began his public messages to us. There were attacks on Rush from the time he began his public messages to us. Lies and misleading attacks…and actual attacks. You know this. The Left cannot allow those who speak out against their agenda to survive, and they will do anything to cancel them, to shut them down and shut them up and destroy them.

Did you know that for a time (and perhaps still) George Soros considered Beck his number one enemy and that his family was physically attacked by his people? Beck spends close to 2 million dollars a year on security?

Do you have any idea what kind of person Glenn Beck is? Do you have any idea the power of his listeners? Do you have any idea the extent of his museum of historical documents and memorabilia? Do you have any idea of the ability of his research teams, or his charities, or his astounding gathering of like-minded, yet very diverse, friends?

Like-minded in that they love and respect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, Capitalism and the Free Market…and fear for our nation and the West, as well as, the rest of the world. That is the key to being a patriot, with links to Beck. Nothing else matters but that love and respect.

I do not know why you have decided to make snarky comments about my respect for Glenn Beck, Jillian. I am sorry that you do not take more time to find out about why I listen to Beck and read his books…and trust him, but “do my own homework” as he repeatedly reminds us to do. I think you are missing out. Beck is responsible for much of my optimism.

I pay little attention to his need to rarely bring his faith into the show. Neither would I reject a talented surgeon should he or she bring her faith to the task of surgery. Beck is a flawed human being, with his own problems with his struggles, with his family’s struggles, with his practical struggle to be a messenger. I don’t expect our leaders to be flawless and Beck’s honesty is refreshing.

I really do appreciate the video that you provided.

Reality is reality, even when it sucks. FL, thanks for the dose.

We are all flawed human beings. Living with humility is most atheistic.

Jeanne, (Just to throw my 2 cents in) I agree with your defense of Beck. I respect him for the great work he’s done. The problem I have with him is mostly just a “personality clash”, so to speak.
You say you cry easily - well I do too, but we’re women! It just doesn’t sit right with me to see a man make such a public display of his emotions.
It just projects weakness.
But as you point out, nobody’s perfect, and I still respect his work in spite of his flaws.

Liz, I appreciate your response.

Yes, I understand that sentiment about cryers being weak men.

Do you know much about his life? If you knew much about him you would never call Glenn Beck a weak man, or a weak person, or a weak leader. Not weak and not broken anymore. I thank the fates for that. What didn’t destroy him, made him stronger. He thanks God for that. I don’t care what or who he thanks for whatever strength he has to do that which he feels he must do.

I am not weak, either. Old and a woman, and emotional at times, especially about my country, but I have never been weak and I never will be weak.

And, Liz, have you listened to Beck since Biden? Or to his radio show or his podcasts when they are made available on youtube, usually the day after they are on The Blaze? The video that Jillian posted and many of the videos that show him unsympathetically are mostly from many years ago.

I wouldn’t have laughed a little at Glenn Beck if I’d understood how important he is to you.

Now that I know how strongly you feel about him, I will not do the same thing unwittingly in the future.

I don’t know alot about him, except what you’ve described previously. I hadn’t kept up with him much before, but he totally lost me when he went through his “anti- Trump” phase.
But I guess he’s changed his stance since then.
The videos by him that you’ve posted have been very informative.

I have never hid my respect for Beck, remarking often about how I trust him and his research staff. Yes, he influences me.

I, too, did not know or understand Trump or respect him, even though I knew that Clinton was bad for America. I did not vote for Trump, but wanted Ted Cruz in the White House. I hated that this overblown reality show host and questionably honorable salesman was sucking all the air out of a terrific roster of Republican candidates. I was a Never-Trumper.

At the time, I debated that, unfortunate as it may be, perhaps we “needed” Hillary Clinton to take us further down the Left road BEFORE we realized just how much we had to lose, and began to fight back.

As it turned out, we got Biden and The People finally realized just how much we have to lose and we are fighting back.

When Trump beat Clinton, I said and wrote on TAC that if he proved himself to me that I would support him and vote for him next time. And that is just what I did as the first months proved his worth to me.

Beck did the same thing. We both became Only-Trumpers. Trump and Beck are friends, and Beck supports him both privately and publicly, and to his own detriment at times. Truth and reality. “The truth has no agenda” has long been Beck’s mantra. That and “do your own homework.”

I was always open about all of this with TAC discussion. And, I took a lot of heat for it. I don’t get hurt feelings in debate. That’s the heat in the kitchen that must be withstood if debate is to be had.

I have listened to Steve Bannon, and despite his slovenly appearance (who really cares?) I find him worthy of my time. I suspect that he may have been incautious with his relationship with Aleksandr Dugin, but that he may have altered his impression with time. I have no real knowledge about that, however.

We are in deep, deep manure in this country and the world. Beck is one person that I trust to bring me the information that is of the utmost importance as these weeks pass by. I will bring information to TAC that I think might help here to clarify the manure pile from which we must climb out.

Please, please gather the foods and toiletries and medicines that you need for the next six months, at least. Things are not going to get better. Talk to your families about how they should prepare, as well. I know that is a horrible word…prepare, prepper, hoarder, hoarding. Nobody has to go farther, as we do…but for pity’s sake, have much more than a week of supplies in your house. Prepare a plan if you can’t stay in your house. Will you have electricity? Will you have fuel if it is cold? Keep your vehicle topped off. Make friends with your neighbors, if you don’t know them. Who will you depend upon when the shit hits the fan if you need help. If you don’t feel safe, where will you go?

The last time gas went this high, people stole fuel from vehicles and from tanks for heating fuel.

I am sorry, I am putting too much into this post. I worry about my friends and you are too far away to make it to our farm.

Thanks! I’ve been stocking up!
I wanted Cruz at first, too, but as I saw the momentum build for Trump I realized he was the one who had the best chance to beat Hillary.
Eight years of Obama did wake people up, which is why Trump won, and would have won again in a fair election.

Yes, yes Trump had the best chance to beat Clinton, and we were happy and amazed that he did.

Those that are awaking now are people that voted for Biden or did not vote at all because they could not bring themselves to vote for Trump.

Glad you have been stocking up. If you don’t need it then you will still have it…and at a price lower that it will be. If our dollar keeps becoming more worthless, then you will still have the goods.
