A friend sent this response to me after reading this:
You know when you read between the lines of this piece, there’s a tone, nay a tendentiousness that desperately hopes that Norway’s courage will fail.
The eyes of the world will now fall on Norway eagerly reporting every increase in cases no matter how minuscule, highlighting every uptick in hospitalizations no matter how minor and every mortality no matter how insignificant. Norway will pay for its malign intransigence!
Dissenting standpoints in the country will be breathlessly broadcast and headlines will blare: “Renowned Norwegian epidemiologist Viktor Virus of Oslo University declares that ending lockdowns will lead to disaster!” Prof Virus will then point to his “model” of the situation, a model which by the way has never once worked, has never come even remotely close to capturing the outcomes it so boldly predicts. Undeterred Prof Virus in those sonorous tones of authority by now sp wellgives us instruction: “My algorithm,” the good professor informs us while intently peering over the edge of his horn rimmed glasses, “unerringly predicts that if full lockdowns are not restored, 2 million Norwegians will die.”
Further sought will be individuals who became infected after restrictions were foolishly ended, infected at a nightclub where our intrepid reporter finds to the horror of horrors there was no social distancing and no masks. Indeed observers report that couples were dancing cheek to cheek and that of all the calamities possible, kissing was clearly seen. “There wasn’t even an attempt to hide it!” sobbed one panting witness.
It further came to the attention of reporters that there was a certain rebelliousness on the part of nightclub patrons, a dangerous disobedience wedded to the bliss of “closeness” where people hold each other, touch each other, look into each other’s eyes and then - the destestation of it all! - they kiss and I don’t mean one of those pecks on the cheek jobs I mean a full throated kiss. Customers at this bar were recorded as being in full support of such sordid behaviour, sordid according to the canons of covid that is. The same report also notes that there was much full throated singing of a particular song long seen as heretical assault on orthodoxy celebrating as it clearly does the odium of cheek to cheek dancing
Heaven… I’m in heaven,
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak.
And I seem to find the happiness I seek,
When we’re out together dancing cheek to cheek.
As a result of this reporting, this song has now been flagged by Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Instagram who have removed all archived references to it and that “we by decree henceforth enjoin that any customer who even mentions this song and its heterodox memorialization of intimacy with happiness - all those caught in this “deviation” will have his/her account suspended forthwith.”
The “I hope Norway fails” crowd will also be on the lookout for unvaccinated people and extract from them self incrimination so that “all us superiort types who have been vaxxed can laugh down at them - how stupid, how provincial and oh so how uncool they all are.” After all you’ve got to be stupid if you’re suspicious of an experimental treatment that injects a substance into your body on which the consequences are unknown. Suspicion that only stupid people fashion is when skeptics make a link between the experimental nature of covid vaccines coincident with a decree by the state that the pharmaceutical companies that make these experimental concoctions are henceforth immune from product liabilty and all those yokels who see something amiss here have their heads screwed on backwards.
It may be added that while the vaccines don’t provide immunity this in no way impedes them from getting immunity.
Endless investigative feelers will like tendrils grow to locate those well known skeptics of vaccines and lockdowns who then contracted the disease. These people must be exposed as being “sorry” for the position they have taken by eliciting the proper level of contrition and repentance for the error of their ways. The repentant come in three categories in ascending levels of importance. There are those who can be counted as a “case” when the by now more than useless PCR test designates them as being so. Then there are those skeptics who have been hospitalized with covid, put on a ventilator and denied, that’s right denied - in the stentorian ardour of self righteousness - all requests for treatment by ivermectin. But best of all is to have a former skeptic who dies of covid.
That’ll teach em!
There is however a deficit with this last category inasmuch as dead people don’t talk. Here, submission by proxy will do: A family member can act as a substitute who says: “He was a headstrong lad too set in his ways perhaps but he was a good man nonetheless.” Even better is to get the patient when in extremis and being administered last rights by the local priest - waves a feeble arm for the priest to “come closer” (take note that both are fully masked) in a voice barely above a deathbed whisper:
“Forgive me in the name of Saint Fauci for I have sinned.”
For those who have been thoroughly groomed in the gratification of virtue signalling, it gets no better than to have a skeptic die on you. What better occasion than this than to pull your shoulders back, hold your head up high, set your face in resolve, look into the mirror and say: “You know. you’re really a good person.”
The thrill, the sensuality of it all!
Feelin good is more than good enough!
Writ large, the media has a big stake in this thing, in the indefinite perpetuation of covid as a never ending crisis. Here, the a priori of the news enterprise in an irrational universe is a contradiction, that for the business of news bad news is always good news.
Bad news makes more money for the media than good news and so it only follows that the media will push that narrative in which it has a monied interest. Add to this the new partnership in which the media act as cheerleader for state coercion. Gone forever are the antiquated ideas of a free press wherein the latter is “free” precisely it talks back and thus acts as a check on state power. Now, state and press shall speak as one, as one voice alone. This union of righteousness isn’t the sleazy kind of power known to the past but a new and virtuous consortium that knows in all its benevolence what’s best for you. Once upon a time it was citizens who knew what was best for themselves but now in the name of the greater good enunciated by the state/media complex - this benevolent absolutism will tell you what’s best for those who do not know, and are incapable of ever knowing.
After all, it’s only for their own good.
Norway cannot be allowed to succeed; and indeed if perchance it does succeed no stone will be left unturned to make it look like failure.
