That’s really interesting! It’s hard to imagine the way life was for serfs. We nowadays probably couldn’t survive such a life for long.
Amazing that it wasn’t abolished in Russia until the 1860’s. Maybe that’s why they transitioned into Communist dictatorship so quickly.

This is not a reliable account of serfdom. (It would bore me to list the misleading details.) It is also hard to listen to with that voice which sounds like a robot.

For a readable and generally more reliable (though also grim) account of life in the Middle Ages try “A World Lit Only By Fire” by William Manchester.
