There is a savage brutality in the soul of man. “‘Tis an unweeded garden That grows to seed. Things rank and gross in nature Possess it merely.”
Only by unceasing efforts to weed and prune can we hope to overcome this bestial aspect of our nature. Hamas is only the latest example of this profound wickedness.

It’s been, over the past 50 years or so of America’s “golden age”, so easy to forget the reality always present under the surface of civilization. But the evil buried underneath was rotting it away the whole time, and now surfaces again.
