When colleges raise tuition, knowing that the government’s easy money will let them charge more and more, they will not plow the money into faculty salaries, but instead into, in large measure, a growing army of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” officers and other administrative busybodies.
Students will understandably expect their loans to be forgiven going forward, and that expectation could lead to increases in borrowing and decisions to delay payment.
Past borrowers who repaid their debt have been handed an unfair bill for someone else’s loan. Future borrowers—children currently in elementary and secondary school—can expect even higher college prices as a result of this “forgiveness.”
It would be hard to design a more unfair, regressive and more inflationary policy.
“President Joe Biden announced plans to illegally transfer student loan debt from existing borrowers to the rest of the American public on Wednesday, marking the latest abuse of executive power by America’s [corrupt, senile] commander-in-chief. … Forcing everyday Americans to subsidize the poor choices of the rich …”
Yes, its been a vicious cycle for a long time, and he’s just making it worse.
The government has no business meddling in education. It just became a conduit for the people’s money to flow to the government, and for indoctrination to flow from the government back to the people.
Listening to Hugh Hewett this morning. He had a clip of some lefty female explaining how this was going to help the economy and help everybody, but I only caught the last bit and not her name…some idiot.
Basically said that these people, who are so weighed down by their loan repayment that they have to live in their parent’s basements…but if they didn’t have that debt THEY WOULD BE OPENING SMALL BUSINESSES and helping to build the economy. and EVERYONE WOULD BENEFIT.
Oh gawd! They live in mom and dad’s basement, but when they get that 10, 000 or 20,000 bucks, they will get off the couch and start a small business! Because that is what people with gender studies and modern art and sociology degrees do when they have an extra $100 a month.
It would be as if the shutdown never occurred and suddenly small businesses would save America…or Biden’s butt. Ugh, let’s not go there!
