A friend wrote this to me regarding Jillian’s ghastly predicament about her lost papers:
It’s a shame that all this history is gone but at least Jillian’s books survive and that’s some consolation.
You put your life on the line to preserve history only to have the “historical revisionists” destroy the fruits of your heroism.
But while the ends have been destroyed, the means - the heroism used to obtain those ends shall live forever.
Real heroism will always play a part in human history.
I am grateful to your friend for his amazing compliment, so kindly offering consolation. Also to you, Cogito, for bringing it here with the same kind intention. But I have no place among the heroic! Not even near them.
I wanted to build something useful, and with the indispensable help of others, I did. We compiled a unique archive which has been thrown away as trash. The loss is a disaster. But it is a small disaster within a vast tragedy - the steadily proceeding destruction of our civilization.
