Mr. Spencer absolutely nails it, as he always does. Islam is a religion, and it is the implacable enemy of Western Civilisation. The “islam is a religion of peace” BS peddled by Bush and many other western leaders can, at least partly, be explained by straightforward corruption. There is a very interesting history between “prince” Bandar, the SA ambassador to the USA for decades, and the Bush family.
I despair at the level of decadence in western leadership today. Between SA, former Soviet oligarchs, Chinese Govt./intelligence linked organizations; is there any limit to who our leaders will sell themselves too?

I should have looked more closely. The article is written very much in the style of Robert Spencer, and the subject is one that he written extensively on. A “senior moment” perhaps.

That’s a great article! He’s right that it’s the Christian West’s blindness about religion that makes them more interested in defending religion - which includes Islam - than in defending civilization FROM Islam.
The only reason it makes sense to define Islam as an ideology rather than a religion is that it seems to be the only way to get around our First Amendment laws which protect it as a religion. Muslims have taken advantage of that - and of us - as a result.
But nothing has come of that attempt anyway.

It would have been much better if the name for this religion had remained, Mohammedism, the now “obsolete and offensive” term, but which designated the unhinged human being that brought the militant Islamists to the world.
