I have reached the point where I think all political opinion polling is fatuous. Polls merely confirm that most people have been fooled permanently. This self-styled “politically sensitive” poll is a case in point.
The terminology of the first (compound) question - Do you agree or disagree with the statement “The U.S. is evolving into a big government socialist state” - is fully politically loaded. “Evolving” is a term that the left uses for progress to socialism, characterized by big government, which is synonymous with the “state”. Progressive like the idea of big government, but they also know that “socialist” is a right-wing insult. It is not surprising that 42% of Democrats agree that the US is progressing to big government utopia and that 40% of them disagree that we are progressing to a Republican dystopia.

Gawd help us… The Easter Shore and rural Western area voted for the other guy, the conservative Republican, but it almost always goes the way the big cities choose.
