Sounds like bad news to me, but things have taken a very bizarre turn with Twitter apparently now wanting to force Musk to go through with the deal:

I’m guessing it’s a win either way - if he does buy it, great - but even if he doesn’t, Twitter will collapse - and good riddance!

Yes, I suppose the government - who they were basically fronting for - could bail them out.
