Discussing conservative atheists and other topics in a recent discussion

A recent discussion I had about similarities between Sweden and US, homeschool, atheist organizations, conservative atheists, challenging affirmative action and more. Tune in ! :slightly_smiling_face:

A very well-sustained interview, Lauren! I have watched a first section and a last section. Later I will come back and watch the middle section.

Thank you for helping to spread the news of the disastrous loss of the terrorism archive, and for all your encouraging words.

I too greatly admire Heather Mac Donald.

Thank you Jillian. Yes I was glad to have the opportunity to give you and other conservative atheists a shout out, especially when it is a rarely discussed subject.

It was the first time I discussed many of these topics in person so it was interesting to re-watch and notice a couple times I could have given a better answer. It takes practice to speak on certain subjects in person, it is much easier to write about it in text.

This was additional commentary I had afterwards…

Regarding being a parent in Sweden… “At the very beginning I should have mentioned that I am irritated with how many Swedes have asked me, ‘Are you working yet?,’ or, ‘Is your daughter in daycare?’ I started getting those questions when she was 6 mos. Like it is expected for mothers to quickly go back to the work force. I always felt awkward to answer no, I am not working yet.”

Regarding US military importance in Europe… "In regards to the importance of the US military, yes I do think Europe would collapse like a stack of cards without US as a backbone if an enemy like Russia or China were to invade. You would think Europe would have learned from being defeated by the Nazis!

I do consider Europe to have been defeated by the Nazis. Without US assistance, all of Europe would have fallen to Nazi control. Many Europeans do not realize how critical US military is right now for their defense, and do not see how vulnerable Europe was and still is."

I totally agree with you, both about the greater importance of mothering one’s child than going out to work, and about the dependence of Europe on American military support.

I thought your answers were very good, but I know how one inevitably thinks of even better points one could have made when an interview is over.

Am looking forward to watching the interview.
Yes - never feel ashamed of staying home with your children! That’s the best thing you can do for them!
