I have some thoughts about this article, some of it might be true but then it’s says that Kemal Ataturk, the Founding father of Turkey was the founder of “New Islam” which makes me takes what this article says with a grain of salt. What are your thoughts about this article?

Here’s the Wikipedia account. Wikipedia is not to be considered infallible, but it quotes eyewitness descriptions which have the ring of truth. What happened was certainly a tragedy, and a blot on the reputation of Ataturk who is generally held to be the best thing that ever happened to Turkey. He modernized and secularized Turkey with reforms that are now being undone.

It looks like history did repeat itself, as there are many parallels between what took place in Smyrna and in Kabul.
