He was gradually moving away from the left in his last years (circa 2001-2011). Give him ten or eleven more years, he would have moved away much less gradually. For one thing, he would have been THE most vociferous and, as always, articulate critic of woke-ism in the public square. This, I’m sure, is a certainty.
