China is significantly increasing its nuclear weapons capabilities. Several recent reports show that China is constructing 120 missile silos for intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) near Yumen in Gansu, up to 110 silos near Hami in the eastern part of the Xinjian region and up to 40 silos in Ordos in Inner Mongolia. ICBMs are defined as missiles with a minimum range of 5,500 kilometers, and primarily designed for nuclear weapons delivery.
“China’s explosive growth and modernization of its nuclear and conventional forces can only be what I describe as breathtaking. Frankly, that word, breathtaking, may not be enough.” — Admiral Charles Richard, Commander of US Strategic Command, Space and Missile Defense Symposium, August 12, 2021.
Oh, great. A worm with one brain cell could have predicted this when Biden got “installed” in the Oval Office. But no, no threat to national security here at all, folks! Nothing to see here.
Yes, Biden, Blinken, Milley and Austin have everything under control. Milley even has a hot line right to the Chinese head honcho, to let him know when we’re going to strike - I’m sure they’ll do the same for us, of course!
And just look what a great job these cOmPetEnT! guys did with the Afghanistan withdrawal!
No worries!!!
A recent National Review did a whole thing on China. Here is an interesting piece of an article from that issue.
“What solvents can China apply to the already tenuous U.S.–Taiwan alliance? It can try to overawe the Taiwanese into submission with its crushingly superior demographics, economic prowess, and military firepower. It routinely tries to dissuade the islanders from putting their faith in American saviors. In late June, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Ren Guoqiang issued a blunt warning to Taipei, urging the leadership to be “soberly aware that the future of Taiwan lies in national reunification.” For good measure, he added that “any attempt to ‘rely on the United States for independence’ is doomed to failure.””
Now, this was before the Afghanistan surrender and disaster. What must Taiwan think now?
