Iām sure a few were. But not all, by any means. A lot of folks DID fight them in the Streets, and they had already come out on top BEFORE Hitler took power. Donāt forget, that the vast majority of them had all fought in the Trenches in WW1. They were tough dudes. Thatās not a Defense, but one of the first things Joe would tell you, or should, at any rate, is the 1st step to winning any fight, large or small, is to know your Enemies Strengths, and Weaknesses, As well as your Own. And Brutal Honesty is Best,when doing either. Itās always a mistake to judge your Enemy by your hatred of His positions.
I would also Remind most that it took 6 years of all out brutal War, by almost the entire rest of the World, to stop the Nazis as well.
One thing Iāve heard often from WW2 Veterans, both growing up as well as an Adult, is how much they hated the propaganda. They understood it, and why it was needed, but to many of them, they felt it made them look like they didnāt really do anything to Win. When people think of Japs as 4 Eyed Buck Toothed ,little āMonkeysā, well, "Gee, ANYBODY Coulda Whipped THEM !! " And Nazis as Fat Foolish Guys running around waving their arms shouting Gibberish and Goose Steppin like Birds, , Same applies. How hard could it have been to take those Clowns out, Amirite ?! Well, 6 years of All Out War and so many Millions of Lives we will never actually know the real numbers, so many were lost to things that virtually vaporised them or their remains are on the Bottom of the Sea. Neither the Nazis, or the Imperial Japanese were pussies. The Waffen SS, which are truly the only actual Combatants that can be rightly termed as actual, āNaziā Soldiers, with only around a Million Men going thru their Ranks from 1939-45,to this Day have one of the arguably Best Objective Records of Modern Combat in Military History. THAT is the True, Actual Danger of that sort of indoctrination. Their Million Men took MILLIONS of the Allied Armies to subdue, and that was mostly due to their actual, Nazi indoctrination. Most German Soldiers were far more like others that HAVE to fight for their Country, with little Choice. Until the very bitter end, the Waffen SS were still a majority of Volunteer organization. Believe me when I say more than one prior Service SS Officer worked for the American Militaries after the War, to help us learn to fight the Russians. MANY of them, actually. Because their skill at Warfare has never been questioned. But, anyway, I digress. Iām old, forgive me, lol.
