Yes, the 1971 film Billy Jack was about as hippified as it gets, and Tom Laughlin and Delores Taylor were icons of the far left. However, the left of that time had not embraced the statism that today’s left exemplifies, and some quotes from the film actually contradict policies of today’s statist, totalitarian left.

I live in Prescott, Arizona, where it was filmed. I eat frequently at the infamous ice cream shop, which is now Marino’s Mob Burgers and Ice Cream.
