It seems those in power are selective about their adherence to the rule of our law. But a constitution is a guarantor of the general welfare only so long as its provisions are publicly acknowledged and adhered to. They are only publicly acknowledged and adhered to when they are believed in. And they are only believed in when their provisions are, so far as humanly possible, impartially applied.
That has not been the case in the United States in recent years.
Madison was right: âA mere demarkation on parchmentâ of constitutional limits âis not a sufficient guard against those encroachments which lead to a tyrannical concentration of all the powers of government in the same hands.â
It is one of Donald Trumpâs greatest achievements to have recognized that a two-tier system of justice is a system of injustice.
âNo one is above the law,â the Left used to chant as it weaponized the coercive power of the state against its political enemies. Trump has turned the tables on the weaponizers, forcing them to live by the same rules they deployed to harass their opponents.
Naturally, those who are being held accountable are shocked and appalled. For the rest of us, Trumpâs bold actions are a vindication of his administration.
The provisions of the Constitution âare only publicly acknowledged and adhered to when they are believed in.â
The tragedy of our present time is that Marxists have so succeeded in eroding the publicâs knowledge of and appreciation for our Constitution that, at best, many donât even realize how horribly the Left has violated it, and at worst, have a negative view of it, preferring socialism.
Iâm encouraged that Trump has declared the Marxistâs militant arm, Antifa, domestic terrorists, and has vowed to go after those who finance them.
I hope that before his term is up he will have rooted out every shred of Marxism from our institutions.
Speaking of the Constitution and Antifa, an article at Center for Security Policy in 2020 was titled âAntifa is a foreign-import insurgency to overthrow the US constitution, Center panelists agreeâ.

Wow, interesting! I remember reading your book about the Baader-Meinhof Gang!
Its telling that the daughter considers Antifa to be the successor movement to it.
Also interesting that, just like Antifa in Germany agitated against âfascismâ, but actually paved the way for Hitler, the current Antifa now calls Trump âHitlerâ and everything thatâs not far-left âfascismâ, but are the actual totalitarians.
