Quote: Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh, a billionaire who ordered murder from luxurious exile in Doha, Qatar, was reportedly killed early Wednesday in Tehran, Iran, after the presidential inauguration.
Multiple news sources, citing Iranian television, say that Haniyeh was killed and that Hamas confirmed the death.
The news came hours after Israel confirmed that it had killed Hezbollah’s second-in-command, Fuad Shukr “Sayyid Muhsan,” who was responsible for rocket attacks on Israel and the 1983 U.S. Marines barracks bombing in Beirut.
Great news about both of them.
However, it raises the question, for me, of why did it take 40 years, and Israel targeting him in retaliation for a different crime, to finally bring Muhsan to justice for the murder of American servicemen in Beirut?
So many years of tragedy could have been prevented if criminals like him had been dealt with decades ago, and even now it’s only thanks to Israel, and in spite of - not because of - the present American leadership’s policies.
Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Forces, has been assassinated in an attack near the Syrian capital of Damascus.
Hajizadeh, a key figure in the Iranian military hierarchy, was the senior commander behind the Iranian ballistic and cruise missile attacks against Israel in April.
The timing of these attacks, including the reported assassination of Hajizadeh, [reveals] a coordinated effort by Israel to target high-profile figures within Iran’s network of allied militant groups.
I’m glad the Israelis responsible for the attack purposely did not let the U S. know of it in advance, in light of leaks made in the past by the Obama regime that alerted Iran and foiled their plans.
I’m sure Biden’s people would have done the same.
Quote:
Haniyeh had been staying at a “heavily guarded complex” in Tehran — an official state guesthouse run and protected by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. Nevertheless, Israel was able to
• Ascertain which room Haniyeh used during his stays there.
• Slip a remote-detonated bomb under his mattress.
• Ascertain when Haniyeh was back in Tehran.
• Make bomb go boom while Haniyeh slept.
As martyrdoms go, Haniyeh’s was delightfully ignominious — in no small part due to Israeli operational genius, plus serious failures on the part of Iranian intelligence and the dreaded Revolutionary Guard. I shouldn’t laugh, but I just can’t help it.
Yes, it’s great when a terrorist gets what he really deserves, and this one did.
Unlike the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, who has now escaped the death penalty.
