Jillian, I agree with your point that what they are doing (crashing the economy) doesn’t make sense, but maybe you have to consider that these people really aren’t that smart!
Look at Bill Gates - he may be a computer nerd, but that doesn’t make him smart - he’s more like an “idiot savant” with delusions of grandeur.

You did. Okay, so no crashed economy, which would be a fast cataclysm - instant impoverishment of the masses. You also rightly said that climate change doesn’t really bother them. It doesn’t really bother anyone. Not Obama, not John Kerry (not even St. Greta who is just a little show-off and knows nothing about it). The aim is power. Power to do what ? To collectivize the (yes, hugely reduced) masses, and “redistribute” wealth (only not their own). In sum, to establish world socialist government. They do not see that that means a slow but inevitable impoverishment ("… running out of other people’s money"). That’s the plan they call the Great Reset. And since, as Liz points out, these Marxist-Leninist-Schwabians are not very bright - even though some of them had one great idea or one stroke of amazing luck and became very rich - they do not foresee that they themselves cannot survive long in the ruin they would bring about. To try to understand their “thinking” is a hopeless task. Their idea of how to protect their wealth and use it to rule over the earth is not the product of thinking but of blind ambition. Conservatives must become far more libertarian and fight them with a passion at least as ruthless as their own.

A more sensible option is that the hundreds of huge container ships now crossing the world’s waterways be nuclear powered. These ships are mainly diesel driven and use the lowest grade of diesel fuel, they belch out pollution.
There are nuclear designs that are very safe and reliable.

I apologise Ms. Becker, I do not know where to post this comment, so I post it here under the modified title “is the US morally bankrupt?”
It takes a lot to shock me. However I was at our local police fort looking at a small electrical project they want us to do.
Part of the work is in the SWAT area. As I walked through the area I saw all the things you would expect to see in a SWAT HQ; an incredible array of firearms and tools and equipment. In addition there was pile of child-restraint car seats!
I looked at it and then at our guide; “what gives” I asked.
He said they take them on their raids, along with the guns, dogs, door busting hammers, gas and stun grenades, etc.
Because it seems that in every drug den, every stolen property lair, every underground gun dealer’s stash, every gang hangout, there are babies and toddlers who have to be taken into protective custody.
I was speechless (an unusual condition for me!)
Was it ever thus?

It must always have been the case that children are born and raised in dens of crime.
