If you accept that, then it (the USA) is not a “beacon of freedom”, “the shining city on the hill”, or even “land of the free, home of the brave”. It is none of those things. It is a consumerist ant-hill, populated by brain dead drones, controlled by a fascist thugocracy.
Of course, the US “is none of those things”, precisely because it HAS been hijacked by a thugocracy, or whatever you want to call it.
Everyone here agrees on that already.
Our disagreement with you seems to be on the fact that we see Trump as a President who at least attempted to fight against that “thugocracy”, while you see him as a “fraud, a phoney, and a con man”.
You make those accusations without ever showing any evidence for them. If you’re going to accuse him, back it up with some facts - make your case.

Liz; on his web site up to the election he promised to do something to control the out of control spending on medical care in the US. Those promises disappeared on election night.
I gave $500.00 to the Trump campaign, and another $500.00 to other, local republican party candidates. Not much, I know, but then I am not a wealthy man.
He did nothing to control deficit spending, and he pushed the “warp speed” vaccination program, out of ignorance, he could not have known the damage it would do.
My problem with Trump is that he had no political experience whatsoever, except greasing demo politcians in NY & NJ to get his RE projects through. He was a major contributor to Chuck Schumer, for that reason. You only need to read his book; “The Art of the Deal”, to know what he is. I don’t censure him for any of that. Look, I know that if you want to get traction with City Hall, you contribute to (pay off?) the politicians. This is the reality of the American (or any other) system; “money talks, BS walks”. That is the reality of western politics.
Nasty? Maybe. But better than any other.

So if you don’t censure him for any of that, why call him a liar, cheat and fraud?
We all agree he wasn’t perfect, but how do you know he lied about doing those things he promised and didn’t do - he may have simply tried, and failed.
He was, after all, up against a powerful, corrupt Thugocracy, as you call it, who hounded him relentlessly every step of the way. THEY are the liars, cheats and frauds. If he was one of them, why would they hate him so much?
It’s to his credit that, in spite of them, he accomplished so much.
Take the energy production, for instance. Both Obama and Biden, as “climate change” pushing Socialists, have done everything in their power to kill it, and destroyed the economy in the process.
Under Trump it boomed, and so did the economy.
Give credit where credit is due.

And all those things were done in spite of a non-stop barrage of lies and character assassination carried out against him by the government/media/Big Tech complex.
